Health & Wellness Activities and Events


The TEPOA Health & Wellness (H&W) Committee provides the ideas and the manpower for the health-related programs and events held within Tucson Estates. The residents are blessed to have such an active, enthusiastic group of volunteers.

All H&W programs are FREE and open to the Member/Owners, Residents, Renters, and the public. For your convenience, all H&W Events are listed on the website Calendar.

Listed below are some of the regularly scheduled events sponsored by the Committee.

Blood Drives (Click here for Schedule)

Every other month, year-round, the H&W Committee works closely with the American Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive within Tucson Estates. This program allow residents to conveniently contribute to the Red Cross Blood Bank. Watch for signs in the community and articles in the Messenger for the date and time of the next Blood Drive. Appointments are encouraged in advance and can be easily obtained by contacting Nancy.


Caregivers Meeting

Caregivers group meets on the last Tuesday of each month.

The Caregivers meeting is attended by a certified Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) Representative to help address the concerns and emotions of those who find themselves in a care-giving role. By attending this support group, you will find a connection with others in similar circumstances. It is comforting to know that you are not alone.



Educational Programs (Click here for Program Schedule)

The H&W Committee does an excellent job identifying, scheduling, and hosting quality educational programs during the busy winter season for the benefit of residents. With a program scheduled at least twice a month, you are bound to find something you want to attend.

Enhanced Fitness

Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays; 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM; Games Building

Get FIT in the Enhanced Fitness Class!

The price for this class is $20 a month or a payment of $50 covers a three-month session.

Join this group of fun loving chair enthusiasts and choose your level of ability.

You are invited to check out the class any time. If you would like to continue, payment can be done at the class.


Health Fair

One of the biggest events hosted by the H&W Committee is the annual Health Fair. With significant planning and effort, this event brings many healthcare vendors to Tucson Estates allowing our residents to easily meet professionals who offer a variety of products and services designed to educate attendees, improve health, and plan for future needs. Always a big hit are the many door prizes raffled off during the event.

Shot Clinic: Flu, Pneumonia, Shingles

In preparation for the annual flu season (which typically starts in January), the H&W Committee teams up with Walmart to offer a Flu Shot Clinic. Residents need to simply come to the MPH for a flu vaccine, pneumonia or shingles immunizations. Please bring your insurance cards. Medicare covers the flu vaccine and pneumonia immunization at 100% and other insurance may be accepted. If you do not have insurance coverage, a competitive fee will be charged. Protecting yourself from the flu couldn't be any easier.


TOPS - "Take Off Pounds Sensibly"

TOPS is a great support group for those who are trying to lose or maintain weight. Tuesday mornings are dedicated to encouragement, helpful tips, and motivational techniques to help with your weight loss journey. When members reach their goal weight, they join our KOPS group (“Keep Off Pounds Sensibly”). They continue to attend for the support and accountability and provide encouragement to others.

Both men and women are welcome. There is no obligation so come and check out a meeting to see if you would like to join.
