Tips BEFORE the Blood Drive: Use American Red Cross RAPIDPASS:
*Drink lots of water 1 day before giving blood.
*Avoid caffeine beverages (coffee, tea, soft drinks, others).
*Eat iron rich foods: (red meat, fish, poutry, beans, raisins, prunes,iron-fortified cereals).
*Take Vitamin C to help absorb iron (citrus fruit, raspberries, strawberries, tomatoes, and broccoli).
*Get a good night's sleep.
*Drink water & eat breakfast the morning of donation.
*Dress for cool temperatures in the room.
*Arrive 5 - 10 minutes prior to your appointment.
*Bring your blood donar card or photo ID.
*Save up to 15 minutes at your donation location.
*Logon to redcrossblood.org/rapidpassto get started.
*Sign on the day of your donation.
*Read the educational materials.
*Complete the health history questions.
*Print your donation pass.
*Bring your donation pass with you to your donation site.
